The Gangway Control Monitor module is designed to control the actual number of onboard crew members at any time a vessel is in port as well as to automate the sign on and sign off procedures.

When a vessel is in port, it is important to compose an actual crew list covering onboard crew members who have shore-visits. The system tracks whether a crew member is actually onboard or off board without closing an onboard activity each time a crew member is leaving the vessel.

Info

The module is available only for companies using the Timeclock Registration service onboard the vessels.

Housekeeping

Before getting started with the module, navigate to Global Options > Import/Export > Web Service:

In the TimeClock section, enter a valid URL which looks like:

ServerName/AdonisWebServices_APPInstanceName/TimeClockWebService.svc

Let us consider the URL components in detail:

  • ServerName is a name of the server on which the Time Clock Web Service is installed.
  • AdonisWebServices is required for calling Adonis Web Services. The component is not subject to modification.
  • APPInstanceName is an APP instance name which you set when installing the APP application. In case an instance name was not defined during the installation, skip this component.
  • TimeClockWebService is required for calling Time Clock Web Service. The component is not subject to modification.

On completing, click Test.

In case the connection has been successfully established, the following message appears on the screen:

Click OK to proceed.

Functionality

The module enables a responsible officer to sign off crew members who did not return to the ship after shore visits as well as to sign on those coming onboard.

Info

Make sure the access rights to the 840 Gangway Control Monitor routine are granted to you in Adonis Control Centre.

Getting Started

To get started, click the Gangway Control Monitor button on the Modules ribbon. The module becomes active from the Manage ribbon tab where you can start working:

There are two tabs in the working area of the module: Off board and Signing On.

Off Board

The system assumes a crew member to be off board once he/she leaves a vessel regardless of the reason. There are two main reasons a crew member can leave a vessel at a port:

  • Shore visit. Shore visits may happen during crew member's rest or work period.
  • Signing off. A crew member leaves a vessel without intention to get back onboard.

  1. Off board lists all crew members registered to be off-board. It is used to view crew members who are ashore as well as it gives the possibility to correct erroneous registrations and confirm off-signers.
In the grid, the following information is available: Pin, Name, PositionReason (Shore Visit/Signing Off), Location (crew member's exact location according to the setup of your Time Clock) and Time when he/she passed the gangway.
  2. Refresh allows you to manually refresh the list. When open, the module is automatically refreshed every 30 seconds to display the actual state of Onboard crew (with the Current sea-service activity) who are registered ashore in the Gangway Control system.

Sign Off is intended for signing off a crew member in case he/she was not able to get onboard but the ship has already left port. The sea-service activity becomes Historical with Date To = current date.

Board is designed to confirm a crew member's boarding in case a crew member is confirmed onboard but forgot to register via the Time Clock panel. A crew member then disappears from the Monitoring list.

Signing On

The tab contains a Switch to the Signing On tab to view the list of crew members signed on via the Gangway control panel or from APM (the Activity datagroup, the Crew Change module, the Rotation Planning module).

The records in the grid are automatically updated. However, you can click Refresh to update the grid on command.
