Introduction
In Adonis, we differentiate between Rank and Position.

Example: A person with the Rank Master will always hold the rank of Master - it is static. However, he might be called out to temporarily fill in in the position as a 1st Officer if there is a gap that needs to be filled for a specific time period, and no one else is available. |
Add/deactivate a Rank
Tip |
---|
When adding a new Rank we recommend that you check the settings for an already existing code to make sure you fill in all the necessary fields with the correct information. |
Go to the General Codes.
Open Personal Details > Ranks.
Click “New” and add a new Rank Code.
Create a new code.
Info |
---|
To deactivate the Rank you select it and either click Open or double-click on it. Tick the box for Passive and Close. |
Add a new Position
Open the Organization Structure.
Find and select the needed Vessel > Department and add a new position under this department.
After you added a new position please link it to the correct Rank Code from General Codes.
To do it you need to select the new Position > open its properties > choose the corresponding code from General Codes.
Integration options
In Adonis Personnel Manager all codes used can be set with an XREF code in order to integrate with other systems. This means that you as a customer don’t need to use the same code in different systems, but instead, you enter the code used in another system into an XREF field on the Adonis Code.
If you are making integrations to multiple systems, and have different codes in all of them, you can add more XREF fields on one code.
How to use XREF codes
Create your Interface in General Codes | Miscellaneous | Interfaces
On each Rank in General Codes | Personal Details | Ranks, go to the XREF tab and add your Interface from step one and the code in the Xref Code field.
Info |
---|
It is possible to add the XREF to each individual Position for each vessel. This can be in instances where your other system has a unique ID for each position, e.g. Master on Vessel A has ID 111 while the Master on Vessel B has ID 222. If you do not have a unique ID for each position, you can use the XREF on the Rank also for Position as they use the same Code. |
