Introduction
When locating at Rotation Maintenance tab, you can open plan you need to work with.
Let us observe the rotation plan below:
Section 1: Rotation Plan Tree
To the left, you can see 'Rotation Plan Tree' with plan name, linked vessel(s), vessel project (if activated) and positions.
The layout depends on user settings performed under Options > Rotation Shift Gantt > Display Data (see Customization section below).
Use +/- to hide/expand positions under the vessel.
You can see special signs near positions:
Section 2: Plan information
When we specified shifts (assigned persons to them), we can get a graphical presentation of it on the right.
-Shifts are shown as colored rectangles according to the colors set up in the shift definitions (see Functionality > Defining Shifts and Projects).
-Empty (not assigned) shifts are usually red
-Current shifts are with
sign.
-The vertical red line indicates the today's date.
-At the top of the screen you can see a scroll bar.
Click 'triangle' buttons on the right and left to go further in the future or back in the past:
To scale the graphic, click the scroll bar and move the mouse cursor to the left to see a larger period or to the right to see details.
-If any crew change (calling port) is registered for the vessel in the Crew Change module, they will appear as small rectangles in the same line with the vessel name:
To see its details (name, length, nr of on/off-signers, etc.) just click it.
You can see both small hint with minimum info (like name and length) and narrowed crew change port data on the bottom of the screen.
For calling ports to be shown:
Rotation Planning should be linked to Crew Change;
Display calling ports in rotation plan option under Options > Rotation Shift Gantt should be ON
The crew change ports differ in colors, let's review their explanation:
no crew changes are planned
crew movements are planned
crew movements are planned; ETA is less than today; ETD is greater than today
planned records with Sign On/Off dates outside a current ETA-ETD period
expired crew changes | |
crew changes & promotions are confirmed without confirming of travel activities
historical records (confirmed or cancelled) |
At the bottom of the Rotation plan working area, you can find a set of tabs providing you with a quick access to the data related to crew members per shift:
To make the tabs active, first, on the graphical area select a shift with as assigned crew member.
The Shift Details tab shows the data on the crew member currently assigned to the shift and the shift length. Besides, the following data is available:
-Near the Comments field, you can see the person's Contract and Payscale information (if the Display additional information in shift details option is selected under Options > Rotation Shift Gantt > Display Data).
-
allows you to see Shift definition. Click
to see detailed rotation information.
-
is an informational button that opens a pop-up menu with a brief description of the icons that may appear on timeblocks (shifts).
-You can also assign a Cabin for the person from Rotation (for more information, see Assigning Cabin from Rotation).
-Extra days on SignOn/SignOff (accessible only if the Manually register hours worked on sign on and on sign off day option is selected under General Options > Payroll). The fields allow defining the sea-service activity codes corresponding to Extra Days on Sign On/Off. This is to include additional days in payroll calculation. The availability of these fields in user-interface is regulated by the Register Extra Days option under Global Options > Activities.
-Embarkation/Disembarkation reasons. Make sure the access rights to the H465 Sea Service Embarkation and H466 Sea Service Disembarkation routines are granted to you.
-Comments. Enter any shift comments you want to leave. Make sure the access rights to the H478 Shift Comments field are granted to you in Adonis Control Center.
The Shift Activities tab shows a list of activities that have been created when the rotation plan was activated and sign on/off was confirmed.
The Travel tab gives the possibility to add travel activities for a crew member. For more information, see Adding Travel Activities.
The Documents tab displays a list of documents which are missing or about to expire. In case the system identifies such documents, the diagram shift will show the warning
next to the crew member's name.
Besides, you can check if a person misses required documents (travel/medical/competence), or maybe they are expiring soon.
The requirements setup for travel/medical documents is done per company in Organization Structure > Company properties > Crew Change:
The requirements setup for certificates person needs to have is done in Requirements Profile module (Position view), click here.
The Crew Change tab shows linked crew change data (available only when Rotation Planning is linked to Crew Change).
From here you can locate crew change to check on/off-signers.
The Relations tab allows to view whether an assigned crew member has a preferred crew member to be reviewed for an assignment (for more information on how to define relations between crew members, see the Crew List module > Define Relations). The functionality is specifically designed for couples who want to work onboard the same vessel.
Section 3: Activities Gantt
Similar to Shift Gantt, we can find Activities Gantt on the bottom. Here we can see activities displayed as blocks.
To view activity information, click needed block.
User can customize the layout under Options > Personal > Activities Gantt > Display Data.
That allows to filter activities shown on corresponding gantt diagram.
You can perform filtering by Period or by Activity Codes depending on your current task.
To enable this functionality, please set Allow Personal Activities maintenance option in Global Options > Rotation Planning.
See Functionality > Maintaining a Rotation Plan > Personal Activities Gantt for all details.

From here you can also add a crew change port directly. This is the equivalent functionality as in Crew Change Module, which can cover situation when a planning is necessary, but Calling Port is missing. |
Overview | This functionality is available if you have Rotation linked to Crew Change. – to get back to the rotation plans list (Rotation Maintenance view). |
Customization: Pre-Filter
By default, all the positions that exist for the selected plan are displayed in rotation three on the left.
But it may come out that part of this list is not your target for certain moment.
You can narrow down the list of positions displayed in the tree using Pre-filter functionality:
Have empty shift(s) in pre-selected period – by setting this option you filter away all positions that have assigned shifts or do not have any during defined period.
This is very useful when you perform planning for some certain period of timeHave a Rank/Position - offers you the entire list of positions that exist under opened plan.
You can tag only those that you are responsible for. The others will not be displayed & your gantt diagram will be more readable.Have shifts with person assigned - possibility to filter rotation plan by certain pin assigned.
It is useful when you do not work directly with Activities datagroup but activities for certain person(s) should be modified.
Click Filter button to apply settings, Reset - to roll back (clear) settings or Cancel - to cancel current procedure.
