Setup

1. Certificate:

For Official Test and Production, it requests an Income register certificate. To get a certificate, you can use the Setup -> Certificate:

https://vero.fi/en/About-us/it_developer/tax-administration-interface-services/vero-api/testing/

The steps to Sign a new certificate:

By signing the start notification and sending it to ohjelmistotalot(at)vero.fi as a PDF file, you accept the terms and conditions. You will receive a secure mail afterward. Go to Sign New Certificate and fill up the fields according to the mail you received:

Click Execute.

It will return a RetrievalID, this ID will be used in the next step Get Certificate:

Setup the filename of the certificate and Execute

The certificate is received and saved in the location where you defined it.

You will be asked to install the certificate:

To be sure, you can check if the certificate and key files are in place:

After the above, you need to send the content of the certificate file to Vero API support (Can use Notepad to open the file and copy/paste it to the E-mail). Vero API support will add/enable the certificate to their site, confirm with you and then you can start to send tax card requests.

Go to the General tab, and to be sure the Environment selection is setup properly:

For example, If you have the certificate of Test, then the environment selection should be set as Official Test.

The APIkey (Software registration ID) is fixed: 0-046-611-932

For the other client workstation which is not original Sign/Get certificate, the functionality “Install Certificate On Current Workstation” will install an existing certificate:

You should copy 3 files (Certificate file, and Private/Public key files) from the original client workstation to the current workstation.

The “Install Certificate On Current Workstation” will let you locate the certificate file, install the certificate, and set the path in the system.

2. General Setup:

a) Import the Income type codes for the tax card:

Choose a definition file and import the codes into the system.

b) To define one of the Income type codes as a standard code for auto-update.

The Vero API can return several tax cards for a person, in this case, the Import routine will update the person’s current tax card with this defined standard code.

For example, If we define code 000024, then if the person has no tax card from before, and may have more than one tax card received, his current tax card will be updated by the tax card with this code.

User interfaces

On the left part, you can choose whom you want to import tax cards for. You can Tag/Untag the person(s).

Click “Import tax card” to import for the tagged person(s):

Choose the Income type codes for the tax card:

On the right part of the window, you can see the result messages. All successfully received tax cards with details shown in the middle list.

In the example above, PIN 305 has received two tax cards, 000024, and 000038.

You can check the result on Payroll -> Constants:

The person may have more than one tax card, you can setup person’s current tax card as below:

In the case when you set manually a tax card other than the default, next time importing will update with the same tax card type code as you selected. For example, if you change the person to use tax card 000038, then next time importing will check and update tax card 000038 only.
