To install the service, follow the steps described below:

Step 1

To start the installation, go to your FTP area and download the latest version:

…/files/upgrade/Replicator/2018.4/internal/2018.4%20with%20Monitoring/

Once the download is complete, go to the downloaded path and double-click the installation file to launch a setup wizard. This makes the Welcome dialogue appears on the screen:

Click Next to continue.

Step 2

Select the directory where the monitoring database will be located. By default, the directory is set to Program_Data. To indicate a different destination folder, click Browse… and set the path:

The database file is constantly updated. For this reason, it is not recommended to define either the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder as the database location.

To proceed, click Next.

Step 3

Specify the monitoring service ports for communicating with the Android applications and the Replicator services, as well as for administrating the monitoring service via a web browser:

The service is designed to use one port for all types of incoming connections including administrating the monitoring service via a web browser. However, you can enable a separate ports for Android clients and Replicator services by using the checkboxes:

  • Use a separate port for Android clients

  • Use a separate port for Replicator services

The additional ports may be needed when Android clients or Replicator services do not support the websocket protocol added to the Monitoring service to enable communication with client applications through encrypted connections. If your client applications do not support the websocket protocol, enable a corresponding checkbox, specify a port number and the monitoring service will communicate with such applications via the native binary protocol as before. Select one or both checkboxes and specify a port number if you need the service to communicate with corresponding applications via the native binary protocol.

On completing, click Next.

Step 4

To establish secure connection with the server, specify a TLS certificate of the host machine on which you are installing the monitoring service.

For this, fill in the fields below:

  • Certificate file. Enter a path to a valid TLS certificate file.

  • Private key file. Enter a matching private key file.

In case the secure connection is not required, leave the fields empty. The Monitoring server can still use the websocket protocol to communicate with client applications but without encryption.

Step 5

Define the administrator password to be used for accessing and setting up the monitoring service in a web browser:

Click Next.

Step 5

Choose the folder where you want to install the service. To do this, click Browse… and indicate the path to the destination folder.

Click Install to initiate the installation process.

Now, you can see the installation in progress:

When completed, click Next.
