Activating Phone calls from APM
Adonis Personnel Manager provides you with the possibility to phone a person directly from the application.
Description
To use this functionality, the option Dial using TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) should be set in the Global Options > Crew List, Personal Details. It is also possible to define Prefix to receive outgoing lines. When a prefix has been defined, it will be added to phone numbers.
There exist several ways to make a call. You can click on the cell phone icon in the Personal Details -> Telecommunication section, use right-click menu & its Phone Person dropdown element. You can also switch to the Tools tab & select the Phone Person menu.
All the person's Home, Office and Mobile telephone numbers will appear in the list, with numbers that have the highest priority highlighted.
You can choose a telephone number you would like to use, and click on the telephone icon in the right upper corner. You will see the Microsoft Phone Dialer window and will be able to start conversation.
Other messengers like Skype & Lync can be set up to be used for phone calls as well. To hide this application you can select in the Microsoft Phone Dialer menu option: View > Hide When Minimized. The application will then only appear in the status menu.
It is also possible to make calls for all places in Adonis Personnel Manager, where telecommunication information is shown: Family datagroup, Person Details datagroup, Organization module, Contacts module.
If you are on a switchboard telephone system, you should ask your telephone switchboard dealer to provide the necessary software and configuration to pick up and dial the phone number sent from APM.
